Pastor Todd Edward Fletcher
Pastor Todd Edward Fletcher received the call of God in February, 1996 when he was 30 years old. Being called by God and accepting the calling was a hard and difficult journey. He was born May6, 1965 to Opal and Alexander Fletcher in Indianapolis, Indiana. He has always possessed a desire to help people and in 1984 he joined the U.S. Navy and became a Hospital Corpsman. In October of 1987 he met the woman that would change his life forever, Patty Freeman. Todd and Patty married three years later on February 24, 1990. With God’s blessings, Pastor Fletcher took his wife on a journey that was truly guided by the Hold Spirit. Through his tenure in the Navy he became Fleet Marine force certified, a Pharmacy Technician, an EMT, and served as Medical Department Representative and Radiation Health Offer on board the Naval Submarine, USS Albany. Pastor Fletcher achieved the rank of E-8, Senior Chief Petty Officer before retiring.
In November of 2001, Pastor Fletcher announced his calling at Mt. Sinai Institutional Baptist Church of North Chicago, Illinois where Reverend Gerald Wilcoxon became his Pastor and Spiritual Father. In February of 2002, Pastor Fletcher became an Associate Minister of Mt. Sinai and was ordained on August 3, 2003 by Pastor Wilcoxon. Under the spiritual guidance and leadership of Pastor Wilcoxon, Pastor Fletcher took on the responsibility as Chairman of the Hospital Ministry and chairman of Vacation Bible School. He also was the minister assigned to the Mission and was the Editor of the Mt. Sinai publication “The Mountain Top Newsletter”.
Even before announcing his calling, God was preparing him for Ministry – he became the Minister in charge of service on-board the US Albany Submarine from 1999 – 2001. Pastor Fletcher experienced the wonders of God, as he traveled the world and the power of god when he was ordered to Spain in January, 2003 to prepare for the global War on Terrorism. Within his travels, Pastor Fletcher continued his education in-between and in conjunction with the Military career attending undergraduate classes at the Collage of Lake county, Northwood University, Central Texas College, Southern New Hampshire University and completed his BAS at Columbia College of MO. Pastor Fletcher completed his graduate studies at Rockford College in Illinois, where he obtained his Masters degree in teaching (MAT).
Pastor Fletcher came to First Baptist Church of Lake Forest in January of 2005 as a visiting Minister, but due to God’s plan, he was voted as Pastor in June 2005. He is a member of the Lake Shore Baptist District Association, The Lake Forest/Lake Bluff Ministerial Team, and The College of Lake County Advisory Board. Pastor Fletcher has a passion for the youth. He has taught at the Middle School levels and has served as Dean of Students. He coaches both Middle School Co-ed Soccer and girls Freshman Basketball.
Pastor Todd Fletcher and First Lady Patty Fletcher have been married for over 22 years and have two children, LaTasha Renee (Gerald) Fletcher-Footman and Brian Dennis Fletcher and two grand children, Noelle Renee and Gerald Footman.
